The massive amount of information and sequence data that emerged from the Human Genome Project has opened new vistas for exploring the functional role of genes. Applications of machine learning techniques, Next Generation Sequencing, system biology and microarrays have intensified the understanding of the disparate phenotypic expressions of genes and their mutants leading to significant advancements in the study of disease.
The International Conference on Functional Genomics and Computational Biology will address the advances in the field in areas as neuroinformatics, systems biology, gene expression and next generation sequencing besides structural biology initiatives and drug design that have captured the interest the past decade.
